Hi -

Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in our SINGER store and learning a little about who we are and how we got to where we are today in the sewing business.  Our names are Ken and Judy McKinney and we have been working with the SINGER Sewing Company since 1968, that's 40 years now.  We began when SINGER was a company owned store and Ken was their local store manager.  Throughout our career, both while working for SINGER and as a SINGER retailer, we have traveled all over the U.S. for training and servicing classes to stay on top of products and industry advancements to better assist and satisfy our customers.

In 1983 we opened our own SINGER store, Fairfield Sewing Center, and have had great success in continuing to grow our customer base.  Today we are the largest volume SINGER store in the state of Alabama.  Along with SINGER, we now also sell Janome sewing machines in order to give our customers an additional choice for their sewing needs.  Besides sewing machines, we also sell embroidery machines, sergers, cabinets, software, as well as a large selection of supplies and notions for all your sewing needs.  Our business services everything we sell, as well as all other machine makes and models that we didn't sell to you.  Repairs are usually ready within 1-2 business days in most cases. To compliment our sales and service, we stock everything that you'll need for embroidering, interfacing, stabilizers, and sewing... down to a large selection of needles and threads.

When you purchase one of our embroidery machines we will also teach you how to use your new equipment.  We'll do this in a personal setting with just one other person, not in a large class along with 15 other people.  That's right, our classes are conducted either one-on-one or with no more than two people, just like you, wanting personal attention and hands-on instructional time with your knowledgeable professional sewing instructor.  If you did not purchase your SINGER embroidery machine from us we will still be glad to give you private one-on-one lessons.  Please call us for more information and pricing.

Our SINGER store is conveniently located just southwest of Birmingham, AL off of I-459 at exit 6.  You can see our store from the Interstate, across the street from McDonald's and right next to Winn Dixie in the Morgan Road Square shopping center.
